Spice Bars
2c brown sugar
3/4c crisco shortening
4c flour
2c sour milk
2c cooked raisins, drained & cooled
2tsp soda
2tsp cloves
3tsp cinnamon
2tsp salt
Mix together all the dry ingredients and then
add the wet ingredients. Mix well.
Bake 350F for 25 minutes. Cool & ice with powder sugar icing.
Banana Drop Cookies
3/4c shortening
1c sugar
1c mashed bananas
1 egg
1tsp vanilla1c oatmeal
1/2c chopped nuts
1 1/2c flour
1/2tsp baking powder
1/2tsp salt
1/4tsp nutmeg
3/4tsp cinnamon
Cream together shortening and sugar. Stir in
bananas, egg and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together in a
seperate
bowl then add the banana mixture. Blend in oatmeal and nuts. Drop
by teaspoon on a greased
cookie sheet and bake at 350F for 12-15 minutes.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup soft butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup (packed) brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups chocolate morsels
1 cup chopped nuts
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small
bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar
brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. Add eggs one at a time,
beating well after
each addition; gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels
and nuts. Drop by
rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake in preheated
375 F oven.
Bake for 9-11 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
Pumpkin Cookies
1 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
8 ounces pumpkin
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground all spice
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup peanut granules
1/4 teaspoon salt
Cream shortening and sugar together, then add
pumpkin, egg and vanilla----beat well.
Stir together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda,
nutmeg, all spice and salt.
Add to batter, mix well. Stir in raisin and peanut granules.
Drop by rounded teaspoons onto a greased baking sheet/pan about 2
inches apart.
Bake at 350 F for 12-15 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
Honey
Snaps
2 C sugar
2 eggs
1/2 C honey
4 C sifted flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp
vanilla
sugar
Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Form into 1 inch balls. Roll in
