Dough
Art
This is for making ornaments for the tree
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water
Mix the flour and salt together ina
large bowl. Slowly add the water, while mixing
until the dry ingredients are uninformly moistened.
Remove the mixture
from the bowl and knead for 6-10 minutes, on a well
floured surface. Form into an ornament
Insert an eye pin or a bent wire loop well into the top
of the ornament before baking.
This wire will be used to attach the ornament to the
tree.
Bake at 325F for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown
Note: Baking time is vary, it
depends on the size of the ornament.

Sugar
Cookies
3/4 cup
shortening
1cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
2 1/2 cups flour (Gold Medal is the best)
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Mix thoroughly shortening,sugaar, eggs
and flavoring (vanilla or lemon).
Blend in flour, baking powder and salt. Cover and chill
for at least 1 hour.
Heat oven 400F. Then roll dough about 1/8 inch thick on a
lightly floured cloth covered board.
Cut into desired shapes (using cookie cutters or what
ever you wish). Place on an ungreased baking sheet/pan.
Bake 6-8 minutes or until slightly brown.

Pumpkin
Cookies
1 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
8 ounces pumpkin
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground all spice
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup peanut granules
1/4 teaspoon salt
Cream shortening and sugar together,
then add pumpkin, egg and vanilla----beat well.
Stir together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking
soda, nutmeg, all spice and salt.
Add to batter, mix well. Stir in raisin and peanut
granules.
Drop by rounded teaspoons onto a greased baking sheet/pan
about 2 inches apart.
Bake at 350 F for 12-15 minutes. Makes about 3 dozen
cookies.

Christmas
Tree Cake
Prepare a cake mix as directed on the
package. Poor batter into a greased and
floured oblong pan. (13x9x2inches).
Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons gree
decorators sugar
2 tablespoons mulit-color non parells.
Swirl through bater with spatula. Bake as directed
on package. Remove from pan,
let cool. Then cover large tray or cardboard with
aluminom foil or foil wrap paper.
Prepare a Frosting Mix as directed on box. Tint frosting
with 1 or 2 drops of green
food coloring. Trim the edges of the cake so that
it looks like a tree, then frost top
and sides, making strokes through the icing to resemble
branches.
Sprinkle the cake with
multi-colored decorator sugar.
Insert 3 candy sticks in the bottom to make the trunk of
the tree.

Chocolate
Chip Cookies
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup soft butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup (packed) brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups chocolate morsels
1 cup chopped nuts
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in
a small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar
brown sugar and vanilla in a large bowl. Add eggs one at
a time, beating well after
each addition; gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in
morsels and nuts. Drop by
rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake in
preheated 375 F oven.
Bake for 9-11 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.

Famous
Fudge
2 tablespoon
butter
2/3 cup undiluted evaporated milk
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 1/2 cup chocolate morsels
1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Combine butter, evaporated milk, sugar
and salt in a medium-size heavy saucepan.
Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil
4-5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat, stir in marshmallows, chocolat morsels,
nuts and vanilla.
Stir vigorously for 1 minute or until marshmallows are
melted. Pour into foil-lined
8 inch square baking pan; chill until firm. Makes about 3
dozen pieces.
