Well to start off with, my name is Rhonda, I am 32 years old, I was born March 31, 1967
which makes me an
. I am originally from
Fairchance, Pennsylvania, USA..
But now I am living in Holland, The Netherlands. "And I will tell you about me moving to Holland in a few minutes." Or you can read about it now by clicking here.
I have 3 brothers, a wonderful mother & father,(but they are divorced) grandmother, grandfather, aunts, uncles, cousins, the whole family thing. But 2 of my uncles has passed away because of cancer, so I have dedicated a special page for them and for my other loved ones that has had cancer and survived. I am a high school graduate, also a certified clerk typist. Now I am attending a language course here in Holland, trying to grasp the Dutch language. A little advice to all the young people; learn all the languages that you can while you are young because you never know when you are going to need them, and because it is really hard to learn a new language when you get older. "Trust me"
I have finished
the language course and now I am working. I still can't
speak the language real good so therefore I am forced to
work as a cleaning ladie. I have found that it is hard to
get a job here if you don't speak good Dutch. So I work
at De
Essenburgh Kasteel (a name of a castle).
Don't get me wrong I like it here but there are some down
falls.

Well, where should I start......well when I would go to my brothers house he would let me chat on it. I didn't know how to do much more then just turning it on and go into a chat room .(know look at me I have my own homepage :-)) And my cousin also had a computer and one day she told me to look up this guy name Hef in Virtual Places. (VP is a chatroom)
So on July 5, 1997 I found Hef, we talked for awhile, and just from that short time I had a feeling about him. He seemed really nice. But then again most people on the net seem nice at first, but Marcel (Hef) was different. The more we talked the better I liked him.
We talked almost everyday on the net. We sent pictures to each other through regular mail and after a while we began calling each other, but not to often because making a call to across the ocean can get really expensive. There was something about him that was attracting me to him and made me believe the things that he was writing and saying to me. I talked to alot of people in VP but I didn't believe most of them because I know people are in the chat rooms just to play around.
So we talked for 2 1/2 months and then on September 19, 1997. Marcel came to America so we could meet. I was really nervous with wondering if he was going to show and wondering how we would get along. But he did show and we hit it off great. He stayed for 2 weeks and those were the best 2 weeks of our lives.

We had talked about living together and I decided that I would move to Holland. Marcel returned to Holland in Oct.2. and we continued talking in VP for another 2 months and then on Dec 12 he returned to America and celebrated Christmas with me amd my family, then on Dec.28th Marcel returned to Holland but this time he returned with me.
So that is how I got to move to Holland!!!
It was very hard leaving my family and friends. But I fell in love with Marcel very hard and very fast and the 2 months that we spent apart was also really hard. And it was also really scary moving all the way over here, not knowing what is going to happen and not knowing anyone. But thank God everything turned out good and everything is still really good between us. Marcel's family has made me feel at home. But I still get homesick every once in awhile. We got engaged last Christmas. (1998) We got married in America on September 19, 2000. I will try to get a wedding page completed and uploaded to share our joy with the internet world.
We have been back to America two times (well actually more then twice) to visit. The first visit Marcel's mom and dad went with us, we landed in Newark spent the night and then drove to Appleton, NY (which is close to Canada). Visited Canada to see Niagra Falls. Then drove to Fairchance, Pa., where we spent the rest of our time.And left out of Washington.
The second time we flew into Miami, spent the night, then drove up to Fairchance, spent 11/2 weeks there, then drove back down to Panama City Beach, Fla. and spent 2 weeks there.
